Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Are you a fiduciary and what does that mean?
A: Yes, we are a fiduciary and that means we put client interests ahead of our own.
Q: How is Elliker Financial compensated?
A: We are paid based on a percentage of the assets that we manage. Our incentives are aligned with yours. We do not get paid to trade your account. We do not sell products or receive commission trails. We are considered a fee-only firm. In our opinion, this is a very clean and transparent business model. If client assets are below a certain level, we may charge a minimum fee instead. This would be disclosed ahead of time.
Q: Can I get a free consultation?
A: We do not charge for a consultation and we do not charge for building you an initial financial plan. We meet with you, discuss your goals and stress points, and create a financial plan to address the things that matter to you. All of this is free. We want to be a resource to our community. After our initial financial plan meeting, we decide if working together is the right fit. No stress, no pressure.
Q: What custodian do you use?
A: We open up accounts for our clients at Charles Schwab. Clients have 24/7 access to their accounts with their own login.
Q: What makes Elliker Financial different than most?
A: We are a full service financial advisory and planning firm. We offer investment management, financial planning, estate planning, and tax planning all in one for the same fee. We specialize in retirement, but help clients at all stages of life.
